PERSONAL INJURY AND ADOPTION LAW FIRM SERVING CLIENTS

Most law firms try to do everything. Ben Whipple, Attorney focuses on two main areas and does them with care: we help people recover financially in cases of personal injury (mostly auto accidents and medical negligence) and we help families finalize adoptions. Ben Whipple listens and learns your personal story. Clients deserve more than being treated as simply a case number. The two may sound unrelated, but they share a common thread: both arrive at moments when the stakes are personal, and both call for a lawyer who treats you kindly as a person rather than a case.

Ben Whipple has served in the Mat-Su Valley community since 1993. Ben has found that clients appreciate personal attention, best efforts and honest guidance about the pluses and minuses in a case. The result is a client/lawyer team approach with a shared path forward to the goal of a client-approved result. That is what we built this practice to provide, and it is why so much of our work still comes from the referrals of former clients and their families.

Whether your question is about an injury or an adoption, our personal injury law firm in Mat-Su Valley can help you chart a course forward. Call (907) 745-1776 or contact us online to schedule a consultation today.

Legal Representation for Auto Accidents, Malpractice & Adoption

When a car, commercial truck, or bus crash interrupts your life, our legal team can step in to manage the fallout. We represent accident
victims across the Mat-Su Valley, Anchorage, and beyond by thoroughly investigating the crash, gathering critical police reports, and identifying every insurance policy that could cover your losses. We handle all the frustrating negotiations with the insurance companies so you can focus entirely on your physical recovery. If an insurer refuses to offer a fair settlement, we prepare your case from day one to hold them accountable at trial.

We also advocate for patients who have suffered harm due to medical negligence, including physician malpractice, surgical errors, and birth injuries. These complex cases demand meticulous investigation to prove exactly how a medical professional breached the standard of care. We can secure and analyze your medical records to build a strong evidentiary claim and fight for the financial support you need to manage any losses you sustained.

All of our auto accident and medical negligence cases are handled on a contingency fee basis, meaning you only pay our fee if we successfully recover compensation.

With adoptions, we carefully guide clients through the court process and give clear explanations along the way. Whether you are pursuing a stepparent, relative or non-family adoption, we manage the complex legal petitions and required consents so you can focus entirely on your growing family.

To make qualified legal help as accessible as possible, we offer free initial consultations for all our legal services, including flexible virtual appointments for your convenience.

A firm's values matter as much as its results. To schedule a consultation at our Mat-Su Valley personal injury law firm, call (907) 745-1776 or contact us online.

Have Questions?

  • Does Ben accept every medical injury case?
No. Medical injury cases are complex, expensive, and time-intensive. Ben carefully evaluates each potential claim and works with medical experts to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to move forward. Not every case qualifies, but every inquiry is treated with care and respect.
  • What types of compensation may be available in a medical injury case?

Depending on the circumstances, compensation may include:

    • Medical expenses and future care costs
    • Lost income or reduced earning capacity
    • Pain, suffering, and emotional distress
    • Damages related to wrongful death

Every case is different, and available compensation depends on the facts and Alaska law.

  • How long do I have to file a medical malpractice claim in Alaska?
Generally, medical injury claims, like other forms of negligence in Alaska, must be filed in court within two years of the date of injury.  However, if the potential claim was not reasonably discovered until some time after the breach/injury, the two-year time clock starts with either the date of discovery or the date it reasonably should have been discovered.
  • Is expert medical input required in Alaska medical injury cases?

A medical injury claim must be supported by a qualified medical expert who has reviewed the care that was provided and determined that the care fell below the accepted standard of practice and that this error led to the harm suffered. The degree of medical certainty required for the expert's opinion is 'more likely than not’.

This expert review is a key part of deciding whether a case can be responsibly pursued.
